What’s new in Memory Cards?
There are many types and sizes of memory cards available on the market today, covering a wide range of prices. For example, a 1gb Memory Card might allow you to save high definition images and video sequences on your camera; but if you need your Camera Card to do more, the market for Camera Cards has no restrictions (at least up till 4gb), provided that your digital camera is ready to support your chosen Camera Card.
Indeed, the market for memory cards is all-welcoming at this point. New formats of memory cards are being discussed and produced constantly. As an example, your cell phone now has the luxury of supporting the Cheap MMC Mobile, which is not at all cheap in terms of quality! Besides the well-known SanDisk Memory Stick -- presently allowing for greater capacity than most other memory cards outside the domain of SanDisk – there are options such as the Micro-SD Card; the Cheap Mini-SD Cards (first introduced in the year 2003 as an ultra small form factor extension to the SD card standard); the MMC Plus Card; the USB Flash Pen Drives; and the Micro M2.
Apart from being aware of the many types of memory cards available, consumers must also know that most types of memory cards are manufactured by different companies, and come attached to a host of brand names. The Cheap Mini-SD Cards available in the market, for example, are being sold by a number of brand-names, even though they were first introduced by SanDisk.
